The Cormorant and The Egret

A cormorant met an egret one day,
By a pond where the insects liked to play.
The cormorant boasted, “I dive so deep!”
The egret replied, “Well, I fish with my feet.”

“I dry my wings in a regal pose!”
Said the cormorant, stretching his waterlogged clothes.
The egret just laughed, with a graceful bow,
“At least I don’t look like a drenched old towel!”

Together they chuckled, their rivalry done,
And fished side by side in the autumn sun.
For egret and cormorant, life’s still a treat,
At PMG where the pond is so sweet.
